JOB SUMMARYThe Quality Engineering Co-op is responsible for leading technical projects that drive innovation and operational excellence. This role focuses on the development and documentation of standardized processes and tools to address and resolve complex engineering and manufacturing inefficiencies encountered by both internal teams and external customers. Through a commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration, the co-op will contribute to enhanced product quality and optimized manufacturing performance.Pay: $25.00HR Co-op term: Spring - Summer 2026PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLead the development of innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing production challenges by leveraging expertise from both internal and external sources. Implement robust manufacturing process controls through comprehensive process analysis and application of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials knowledge.Prepare and maintain documentation for new and existing manufacturing processes and procedures. Develop clear and effective work instructions, procedures, and standardized work using established engineering methodologies.Ensure product and process quality by designing error-proof mechanisms, fixtures, and tools; establishing and documenting quality standards; and validating manufacturing processes to meet organizational requirements.Design and utilize 3D-printed tooling and fixturing to streamline manufacturing operations and enhance error-proofing of production processes.Drive process improvement initiatives by applying root cause analysis, corrective actions, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing techniques to optimize production efficiency.Serve as a problem solver for both internal and external teams, facilitating issue resolution and implementing strategies to reduce the cost of poor quality, including warranty claims, scrap, and rework.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to recommend and implement process and functional improvements.
