Forklift Operator

A Port Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other cargo handling equipment to load, unload, move, and stack materials within a port or marine terminal. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient cargo flow, maintaining safety standards, and supporting port logistics operations.

What you'll be doing as a Forklift Operator :

Operate forklifts (including high capacity or container forklifts) to move cargo, pallets, and containers throughout the port.
Load and unload trucks, vessels, railcars, and storage areas
Inspect forklifts and equipment daily to ensure safe working condition
Maintain accurate records of cargo movement and equipment usage
Communicate with supervisors, crane operators, and logistics teams using radios or hand signals
Support general port operations, including housekeeping and staging cargo
Available shifts:
Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day), Weekends
Experience operating forklifts in an industrial, warehouse, or port environment
Valid forklift certification (port-specific certifications may be required)
Ability to operate various forklift types (standard, reach, clamp, container handler)
Understanding of port logistics, cargo handling, and safety procedures
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments
Willingness to work flexible hours weekend
Experience in marine terminals or intermodal operations
TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
Knowledge of hazardous materials handling (HAZMAT)
