Utilizing the nursing process, responsibility for providing immediate and long-term nursing care needs of patients within the standards of the department, hospital, and regulatory agencies.
Utilizes multiple data sources to determine actual/potential health problems and functional status.
Performs point-of-care testing.
Communicates findings effectively to members of the healthcare team.
Accurately plans nursing interventions for assigned patients.
Modifies and individualizes Nursing Plan of Care and protocols.
Demonstrates ability to prioritize patient care needs.
Partners with patients and families to support recovery goals.
Provides and implements nursing care interventions.
Reviews physician orders in a timely manner.
Accurately evaluates the effectiveness of nursing care interventions.
Documentation on the Nursing Plan of Care, protocols, and Assessment Flowsheet reflects response to intervention and demonstrates an understanding of patients' responses to treatment interventions.
Accurately communicates patients' clinical status at clinical team rounds and change of shift reports.
Utilizes evidence-based nursing knowledge to guide practice decisions.
Provides a leadership role in organizing and providing patient care.
Delegates care interventions.
Assumes a leadership role in medical and psychiatric emergencies.
Promotes and provides for critical incident de-briefing following emergency events.
