ER RN Job Details – Milwaukee, WI Location: Milwaukee, WI 53233 (Wisconsin nursing jobs)

Facility: Level IV Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital

Unit: Emergency Department (35 beds, 6 fast track rooms)

Position Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract

End Date: January 10, 2026

Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:30am)

Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend

Holiday Coverage: 2 out of 4 major holidays or every other

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications Current and active RN license (Wisconsin or compact state)

Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience in a high-volume hospital

BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications (required for ER nurse jobs)

Strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV insertion, critical care drips, medication administration, TPA and blood administration, procedural sedation, and code blue response

Experience with EPIC electronic health records (EHR) system

Covid-19 vaccination required

ER Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages and medical conditions

Perform triage, assessment, and stabilization for trauma, STEMI, neurological, and mental health emergencies

Administer medications, blood products, and critical care drips as indicated

Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and therapists in a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Document patient care using EPIC; manage medications and equipment with Pyxis/Alaris systems

Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations

Complete orientation (two 12-hour shifts) prior to independent practice
