Nurse - Hematology/Oncology (Part-time Flex) - Ambulatory Care

Location: Hawaii Cancer Care Pay Range: $35.38 - $51.32

Job Description Summary Provides safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including but not limited to: patient assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration. Provides triage care when necessary. Key Performance Areas Safely and accurately administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non-oncologic agents to patients as ordered by providers. Will use Oncology Nurse’s Society (ONS) standards and guidelines. Documentation: Thorough, accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) of treatment rendered to patients. Telephone triage: Includes prioritizing incoming calls and messages from patients, family members, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices from emergent to non-urgent. Supplies: Includes assisting with inventory and re‑staking medical supplies, recommend purchase of new items as needed. Place stock in storage areas in a timely manner. Complete annual required safety and nursing trainings. Assist in training new employees related to job duties according to JBIs. Will be expected to work at any Company location to help meet the Company’s business needs on an as‑needed basis, within reasonable expectations. Will also be expected to work overtime when given sufficient notice. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Adheres to Company and departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and procedures and Disaster Plan.

Nursing Degree

Unencumbered RN License in state of employment or multi‑state license Current CPR and BLS certifications Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed

Previous Experience (including minimum years of experience): Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting Ability to assess patient needs and condition is essential. Must have strong critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Fluency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills is required.

Ability to build an engaging culture of quality, performance effectiveness and operational excellence through best practices, strong business and political acumen, collaboration and partnerships, as well as a positive employee, physician and community relations.

Self‑motivated and self‑starter with ability work independently with limited supervision. Ability to work remotely effectively as required. Must be able to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required.

EMR Travel: Standard Core Workdays/Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
