Registered Nurse RN NICU Days and Night shifts!

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN)This position is available on a Level II NICU team, consisting of 12 private rooms and a Special Care Nursery (SCN) with 18 beds. The unit occasionally exceeds capacity until transitions are made.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide high-level care to neonates, including those with respiratory complications such as CPAP and ventilator support.Manage a variety of diagnoses including hyperbilirubinemia, meconium aspiration, respiratory distress syndrome, and Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension (PPHN).Perform procedures such as PICC line placements, chest tube insertions, and exchange transfusions.Coordinate with Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs) and Neonatologists who are on-site during the day.Participate in self-scheduling and contribute to team-based care of the patients.QualificationsA minimum of 2 years of recent Level II NICU experience, ideally within the last 6 months.Current certifications in BLS and NRP are required; STABLE certification is preferred.Scheduling and Shift Details12-hour shifts, with a focus on night shifts.Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule, including both Saturday and Sunday for day shifts, and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for night shifts.Holidays will follow a rotation with permanent staff.Self-scheduling is implemented to balance staff needs effectively.Patient Care EnvironmentThe NICU primarily serves infants born at 28 weeks and above, handling high-level care with a focus on respiratory needs, and transferring cases requiring higher-level interventions as needed to specialized facilities.Additional InformationRatios: NICU - 2:1; SCN - 3:1.Use of GE monitors for telemetry and various ventilators such as Puritan Bennett 840.Pharmacy support and respiratory therapy are available 24/7.No nurse aides are present; nurses maintain all care responsibilities.Floating to other units is not required for this role.This position offers a comprehensive opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment focused on neonatal care, with substantial collaboration and advancement potential.Client Details Address 1955 W Frye Rd City Chandler State AZ Zip Code 85224
