Senior Production Underwriter -Fully Remote

Underwriter Position Available

IAT Insurance Group, TransGuard has an immediate opening for an underwriter to join our Moving and Storage Underwriting team. The TransGuard Insurance Company has long been a leader in this space. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of multi-line P&C risk experience managing and growing a book, with focus on commercial transportation, inland marine, or a similar line of business. This role will work on a hybrid schedule Monday through Wednesday in the office, with the option of working remotely on Thursday and Friday. Occasional travel is required.

Evaluates information to determine risk acceptability in accordance with company guidelines.

Prices risks per company standards.

Documents decisions in accordance with regulatory standards.

Provides outstanding customer service.

Participates and leads special projects as assigned.

Participates in annual planning meetings with assigned agents.

Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or equivalent is required.

• Equivalent experience is defined as a minimum of nine or more years of commercial insurance underwriting-related experience.
• Commercial multi-line experience.
• Thorough knowledge of the insurance industry.
• Excellent knowledge and application of negotiation technics to day-to-day interactions with agents and customers to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Ability to appropriately utilize loss control to minimize risk to the company.
• Ability to make appropriate underwriting decisions for risks within a limited range of context and situations.
• Ability to understand loss development and advanced loss analysis concepts in underwriting and pricing risks.
• Ability to make individual account decisions that maximize the performance of the entire portfolio.
• 10% Travel Required.
