Please review the job information below.General Purpose of Job:Briefly describe the job’s primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.The staff nurse is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, nursing process, the environment/instrumentation and other health care team members. May also function as charge nurse as necessary. Is accountable to unit supervisor of assigned unit. Delete those that do not apply.Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing with current licensure in the State of TexasPediatric experience preferredCertificates, Licenses, Registrations.Current Registered Nurse in the State of Texas Delete category if not applicable.Current BLS certification.Successful completion of DCH orientation, Code Management, HIS/LIS course, and medication orientation.Annual completion of DCH mandatory safety in-services.Advanced certification , RNC-NIC, CCRN, etc., required within 2 years of hire
