Job Summary As an Emergency Veterinarian, you will provide high‑quality, compassionate care to small animal patients during critical situations. You will work closely with a skilled support team in a well‑equipped emergency facility that includes an in‑house diagnostic laboratory, digital radiology, ultrasound, and a full surgical suite.
Location & Community Fresno, CA offers a vibrant community with affordable housing, proximity to mountains, beaches, and national parks, and a supportive school district. The hospital serves residents of Fresno, Clovis, Madera, Sanger, and the surrounding San Joaquin Valley.
Responsibilities Deliver emergency medical care and perform surgical procedures on small animal patients.
Interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory results to make timely treatment decisions.
Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to hospital protocols.
Identify and implement quality improvement initiatives across the emergency service.
Participate in teaching and mentoring of veterinary technicians and other team members.
Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree.
Valid state veterinary license.
Strong commitment to emergency care and continuous learning.
Excellent decision‑making and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
Experience with Google Apps for Work and Cornerstone Practice Management software is a bonus.
Tech‑savvy; comfortable using electronic medical records and diagnostic equipment.
Compensation and Sign‑On Bonus Annual Salary Range: $175,000 - $220,000.
Sign‑On Bonus up to $100,000.
