Location: Downers Grove, IL Job Type: Full-Time Company: American Energy Group (AEG) is a vertically integrated electrical contractor specializing in commercial and residential electrical services, EV charging infrastructure, LED & architectural lighting, solar, battery storage, and backup power solutions.

Are you looking to take the next step in your electrical career? We are seeking a highly skilled Electrician with 5 - 10+ years of field experience who wants to join a company that is rapidly growing. This individual must be capable of independently managing electrical projects, supervising crews, coordinating with customers, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to code.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, solves problems, communicates well, and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship.
Lead commercial and residential electrical projects
Read and interpret electrical plans, blueprints, and specifications
Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems
Perform service upgrades, panel replacements, and equipment installations
Install EV charging systems (Level 2 and DC Fast Chargers)
Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and safety regulations
Coordinate inspections and communicate with inspectors when needed
Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and project managers
Identify field issues and provide practical solutions
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work van and job site.
5 - 10+ years of electrical experience required
Illinois Journeyman or Master Electrician preferred
Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Experience running commercial electrical projects
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to read blueprints and electrical drawings
Chicago Electrical License is a plus
