CNAs provide daily care of students under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Provides for activities by assisting with serving meals, feeding students as necessary and ambulating, turning, and positioning students.
Provides care by administering and establishing toileting routines that include diaper changes and applying restraints.
Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and following students care plan at all times.
Provides student comfort by utilizing resources and materials; Assisting with students during daily activities, including academic activities
Up to 20% of the day may be used to support the nurse's office with daily duties, as needed.
Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.
Protects FPS value by keeping student information confidential.
Serves and protects the Fargo Public School District by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures; federal, state, and local requirements.
Complete district training on de-escalation techniques for students who many have emotional difficulties
High School Diploma of GED
Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
Knowledge of relevant nursing care
Understands legal implications of patient care
Certification with accredited training course through the State of North Dakota and current certification through American Heart Association in Basic Life

• 1 year of nursing assistant experience
• Personal contact with students, staff, parents/guardians, faculty, and administrators is an essential part of the position and requires the ability to share information and must be sensitive to people and their needs. The position may handle confidential and private data.

Non-emergent issues are discussed with the Teacher or Building Principal.
