Project Manager

Blu Omega is seeking a Project Manager to support a federal program focused on public health data modernization. This role operates within a hybrid environment and is responsible for project coordination, agile delivery support, stakeholder communication, and maintaining project documentation. The position requires experience managing complex technical initiatives supporting multiple stakeholders in a government or public health environment.

Funded Public Health Data Modernization Implementation Center supporting modernization of public health data exchange and interoperability for public health agencies.

Supporting various state and local public health agencies with data and infrastructure modernization to improve health data interoperability using modern health IT standards.

Manage project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and tasks using Jira and approved documentation.

prepare agendas, document notes, and track action items.

Coordinate project documentation, including charters, deliverables, meeting materials, and final work products following established templates.

Support risk, issue, and dependency tracking; communicate potential blockers to project leadership.

Monitor the quality and completeness of project outputs prior to submission or handoff.

Support agile practices by coordinating backlog updates, milestones, and Jira task hygiene.

Contribute to post-project reviews and apply lessons learned across engagements.

Bachelor’s Degree

At least four (4) years of full life cycle project management experience across planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout for complex technical initiatives

Experience producing project plans, schedules, status reports, and executive briefings

Managing complex projects with all staff levels

Proven experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously

Hands-on experience engaging with and managing cross-discipline teams

Experience managing scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies in multi-team and multi-stakeholder environments

Strong command of Agile, hybrid, or waterfall delivery models

Working knowledge of public health systems, surveillance workflows, and state, local, and tribal public health environments
