Job Description
A Presidential proclamation issued on September 19, 2025, imposes a $100,000 fee on new H-1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025. Texas A&M University will not pay this fee. • *The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.**

Plan, develop and implement training programs for county staff to provide Family & Community Health unit services to clientele; analyze and interpret trends and other situational information and disseminate it for use by county personnel and committees in planning programs to meet local needs; assist with the development of in-depth educational programs to solve significant problems and meet long‑range objectives.

Provide technical assistance and develop subject‑matter training, resources, and publications in support of county staff and Extension customers to achieve strategic goals and outcomes (including but not limited to individual and team program plans, College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources strategic imperatives, National Family & Community Health program goals, and federal National Institute of Food & Agriculture goals). Research, interpret, and disseminate relevant educational information from credible sources through the development of outreach teaching tools to assist county staff and Extension customers (reports, blogs, extension website, articles, publications, fact sheets, multimedia presentations, curriculum, and other mass media outlets).

Identify and compile impact data for unit, state, and federal reports; contribute to unit staff and grant reports, monthly state reporting system; build and maintain relationships with industry and other granting agencies to aid in developing grant proposals to support educational programming; provide leadership within the program area and discipline to advance organizational goals; strategize with Program Leader to proactively determine training needs and plan and implement faculty/staff trainings, in coordination with appropriate Extension leadership and other Extension Specialists; travel to selected counties to provide technical assistance and training for agents and volunteers; develop comprehensive model plans addressing base programs, critical issues, and clientele needs; assist with development of evaluation instruments to measure program effectiveness.

Participate in relevant professional development associations, conferences, and meetings at the state level as attendee and/or speaker to stay abreast of changes and new ideas/innovations; represent PVAMU Extension and the Family & Community Health unit by serving on committees or as a speaker for an area of specialization with recognized organizations or at statewide and national committees/conferences; participate in required events within the unit/department, and represent PVAMU Extension at statewide and/or national level; adhere to all relevant policies and procedures on multiple levels (national, state, university, college, department, and unit) and provide updates/recommendations to maintain compliance; supervise undergraduate or graduate student employees or grant personnel staff on external grants when holding a Principal Investigator title.

Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with co‑workers, supervisors, and clientele.

Required Education and Experience

Master’s Degree in an applicable field.

Ten years of related professional experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet applications.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
