Dentist - Immediate Hire

The Department of Corrections is focused on public safety through the custody and supervision of those in our care. The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill Dentist positions. This position is responsible for the practice of general dentistry and all matters requiring professional judgment; monitoring dental disease, restoring and maintaining dental function, and assisting in the maintenance of good dental health and well-being of Persons in our Care.

performance of diagnostic, preventive, restorative, periodontic, endodontic, prosthodontics, adjunctive and emergency, and oral surgery; referral of specialized orthodontic and complex treatment to community specialists; direction of the clinical activities of ancillary dental personnel; assistance in completion and submission of monthly and annual dental activity reports; provision of dental health education on an individual and group basis; provision of care and maintenance of dental equipment, direction of infection control procedures and elimination of biohazards within the dental operatory.

This position aids the Dental Director in other related dental duties when not providing direct dental care.

Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code. Substantial leave time including at least 3.5 weeks of vacation to start, 9 paid holidays, and ample accrued sick time that rolls over each year.
