Dietician - Nutrition Clinic

Registered Dietitian
The Registered Dietitian (RD) provides medical nutrition therapy and culturally relevant nutrition education for clinic patients, community health participants, and Tribal Elders. This position supports maternal-child health programs, infant and early childhood nutrition, and chronic disease prevention and management. The RD collaborates closely with primary care providers, nursing, community health representatives, and wellness staff to deliver integrated, trauma-informed care.
Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian.
One year of clinical or community nutrition experience preferred.
Experience working with Tribal communities or in rural health settings preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients referred by providers or through community programs.
Provide ongoing education and counseling for patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and cardiovascular disease.
Deliver nutrition services for maternal-child health, including prenatal nutrition, breastfeeding support, and infant feeding guidance.
Support and expand home visiting services, especially for elders and families with limited access to clinic-based care.
Develop and implement culturally relevant group nutrition classes and workshops.
Lead the nutrition component of the weight management program, including meal planning, behavior change strategies, and tracking progress.
Collaborate with the fitness coordinator and other wellness staff to deliver coordinated lifestyle change programming.
Participate in care team meetings to ensure coordinated service delivery.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record.
Assist with community health initiatives and outreach events promoting nutrition and wellness.
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and outcomes, adjusting interventions as needed.
Maintain current knowledge of best practices in nutrition and dietetics.

Deliver clinical services in the home and office setting appropriate for all ages
Exercise initiative, good judgment, courtesy, and discretion in all interactions
Must have excellent interpersonal, self-starter, organizational, time management skills, and maintain regular attendance
Conditions of Employment

Must possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and be insurable
CPR certification required, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Occasional non-traditional hours including working evenings, weekends and holidays as required to meet program needs and deadlines
Ability and willingness to travel for program requirements, meetings and continuing education
This position will have access to information that is security sensitive and thereby subject to additional provisions. All information obtained will be protected under 42 CFR, part 2 and IHS/HIPPA policy rules and regulations.
