Overview
Shore Educational Collaborative is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for students with disabilities. We are seeking a reliable and dedicated School Custodian to join our team. This position involves maintaining cleanliness and ensuring a safe atmosphere, as well as performing light maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
Perform routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and waste disposal.
Assist in the setup and cleanup of school events and activities.
Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed.
Conduct light maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, repairing furniture, and maintaining outdoor areas.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Assist with minor repairs and troubleshooting of school equipment.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to address specific needs related to the school environment.
Respond to emergency cleaning and maintenance requests promptly.
Support the school's mission by promoting a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred, especially in an educational or healthcare setting.
Basic knowledge of cleaning and maintenance procedures.
Ability to lift and carry heavy items and perform physical tasks.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience and understanding when working with students with disabilities.
