The Housekeeper / Laundry Aide is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of resident apartments, common areas, restrooms, offices, and other community spaces while providing quality laundry services that ensure residents have clean clothing and linens. This position works closely with the Maintenance Director, Executive Director, nursing team, and other departments to support exceptional resident experiences.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, takes pride in creating clean and organized spaces, pays close attention to detail, and enjoys serving seniors with compassion and professionalism.

Housekeeping Responsibilities

Clean resident apartments according to established schedules and company standards.

Clean common areas including dining rooms, hallways, activity spaces, offices, public restrooms, and entrances.

Clean windows, mirrors, furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces.

Empty trash and replace liners throughout the community.

Restock housekeeping supplies and notify leadership when inventory is running low.

Report maintenance concerns or safety hazards immediately.

Laundry Services

Wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and linens accurately.

Ensure clothing and linens are properly labeled and returned to the correct resident.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.

Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely.

Monitor laundry equipment for proper operation and report maintenance concerns.

Resident Experience

Interact with residents in a warm, friendly, and respectful manner.

Respect resident privacy and personal belongings while working in apartments.

Respond courteously to resident requests and communicate concerns to appropriate team members.

Help create a welcoming, clean, and comfortable environment where residents feel proud to call the community home.

Support residents' dignity by providing discreet and professional housekeeping services.

Follow all company safety policies and infection prevention procedures.

Properly use cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) awareness and follow chemical handling procedures.

Maintain survey readiness through consistent housekeeping practices.

Follow all OSHA, company, and state guidelines related to environmental services.

Support community events by ensuring common areas remain clean and presentable.

Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding priorities and resident concerns.

Resident apartments and common areas consistently exceed cleanliness standards.

Laundry is completed accurately and returned promptly.

Residents and families express satisfaction with the cleanliness of the community.

Housekeeping supplies and laundry areas remain organized and well maintained.

Survey readiness is maintained through consistent environmental services.

Team members collaborate effectively to support resident needs.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members.

Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.

Previous housekeeping, laundry, hospitality, environmental services, hotel, or healthcare experience.

Experience in assisted living, senior living, nursing homes, or healthcare settings.

Knowledge of infection prevention and cleaning procedures.

Experience operating commercial laundry equipment.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.

Ability to operate housekeeping and laundry equipment safely.

Ability to work with cleaning chemicals while following all safety procedures.
