Job Summary Emergency Room Registered Nurse - LA JUNTA, Colorado. This position involves providing direct patient care in a busy emergency department setting. The role requires managing the care of diverse patient populations, collaborating with healthcare team members, and responding quickly to emergent situations, including trauma cases.
Job Details Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Current Colorado Registered Nurse license; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within one year of hire; Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in emergency or acute care settings; Certification in Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS); Additional locale-specific or specialty certifications.
Demonstrates competency in providing direct patient care, performing head-to-toe assessments, monitoring hemodynamic status, and interpreting cardiac rhythms.
Communicates effectively with physicians, patients, and families, addressing psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
Documents thoroughly and maintains accurate patient records.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and assists physicians with procedures in the emergency department.
Participates in ongoing professional development through educational programs, workshops, and in-service meetings.
Assists in departmental orientation and contributes to performance and quality improvement initiatives.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
