The Historian will collect oral histories, produce publications,and conduct presentations on the history and culture ofMissouri.
Plan, conduct, transcribe, edit, and make available oral historyinterviews.
Develop content for the Missouri Historical Review, MissouriEncyclopedia, Historic Missourians, the Missouri Times magazine,exhibits, and other outlets.
Assist with media requests for interviews.
Conduct classes, tours, presentations, and workshops on thehistory and culture of Missouri.
Present workshops to groups interested in the practice ofconducting oral history interviews.
Transcribe existing oral history collections and manage theconversion to digital format.
Shift
Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00 pm
Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience from whichcomparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Knowledgeable of digital humanities and current audio and videotechnologies
Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel asneeded. Travel will periodically require overnight stays.
Excellent visual, writing, and public speaking skills
Experience with Microsoft Office including MS Office and Adobeproducts.
