Responsibilities
The Telemetry Nurse will provide care to medical oncology patients with additional medical surgical overflow. Responsibilities include:
Monitoring and interpreting telemetry data.
Administering medications and titrating drips per protocols, including comfort care medications and limited drips such as Heparin and Cardizem (up to 10 mg/hr).
Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.
Supporting patients with diagnoses including Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Diabetes Mellitus (DM), Urinary Tract Infections (UTI), non-critical sepsis, Hypertension (HTN), and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience is required.
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Bio/Chemotherapy certification is preferred but not required.
Work Environment
Shift: 12-hour shifts are the standard for this unit.
Weekend Requirements: Staffing will be based on unit needs and demands.
Holiday Requirements: To be discussed during the interview process.
Floating Requirements: Nurses may be required to float to like departments based on staffing needs.

Orientation and Training
New hires can expect 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation to ensure a smooth transition into the department.
Additional Notes
This is a newly established department, opening on December 10th. The reporting manager will provide support and guidance through the onboarding process.
