Phlebotomist, Phlebotomy, Full Time

Responsibilities

Obtain blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and capillary puncture.

Follow laboratory policy for proper patient identification and specimen handling.

Provide care to patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics.

Be willing to cross‑train in additional roles and float to other departments as needed.

Recognize signs and symptoms of stroke, call a stroke alert, verbalize the stroke alert process, draw blood for the stroke panel, and deliver specimens to the laboratory on stroke alert patients.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma and Technical School; Associate of Applied Science or AS degree preferred.

Experience: 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required.

License / Certification: Phlebotomy Certification required within 6 months of hire.
