Weekend Welder Fabrication

At Magna-Power Electronics (MPE), a Flemington, New Jersey based electronics manufacturer, we believe that world-class engineering starts with a great team. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a skilled and dependable Welder / Brazer to join our production team. You'll be diving into exciting, globally impactful projects, shaping everything from electric vehicle powertrains and next-generation semiconductor fabrication to particle accelerators, cutting-edge energy research, and national defense. In this role, the Welder / Brazer will support our Magnetics and Machining departments by performing precision welding, brazing and mechanical assembly. You will work directly with technical drawings to fabricate high-quality components, playing a critical role in our electronics manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team to meet production deadlines. Given the complex nature of the products, there will be significant hands-on training and interaction with various Magna-Power teams.

Welding: Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on steel according to print and project specifications (Required), TIG (GTAW - Preferred).

Brazing: Perform precision brazing operations to join metal components, ensuring strong, clean joints according to technical drawings and project specifications.

Fabrication & Assembly: Prepare materials by cutting, fitting, cleaning, and aligning parts prior to welding.

Provide general support to the Machining department as needed based on workload and schedule, including packaging and shipment preparation, material cutting, and other production tasks.

Equipment Operation: Safely operate fabrication equipment, including saws, sanders, grinders, and other various cutting tools.

Quality Control: Identify faulty components and inspect welded surfaces to ensure they meet our high quality standards.

Complete all necessary production paperwork and record keeping accurately.

Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members to manage equipment, resources, and project timelines.

Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in MIG (GMAW) welding. Must be able to pass a MIG welding test (Required).

Education: High school diploma or GED (Required).

Strong mechanical aptitude using hand and power tools and the ability to read and understand complex technical blueprints and schematics.

Manufacturing Knowledge: Experience working in a production or assembly environment.

Knowledge and understanding of BOMs, assembly drawings and other related manufacturing documents.

Experience with TIG (GTAW) welding and soldering .

Previous experience in equipment maintenance or troubleshooting.
