Safety Investigator (NJUS)

Purpose of Position: The Safety Investigator supports the Safety Investigations Manager in executing the comprehensive NetJets Safety Program by conducting thorough investigations of safety events, incidents, accidents, and identified hazards. This role actively participates in the Safety Risk Management (SRM) process, collaborating with operational departments and third-party providers to identify hazards, analyze contributing factors, and support the development, implementation, and monitoring of effective safety risk controls.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Conduct safety investigations of incidents, irregular events, and hazards with guidance from senior Safety Investigators or the Safety Investigations Manager; investigations may be performed remotely or on site

Ability to travel as needed with little to no notice to support safety investigations

Collect, analyze, and document investigative data, including reports, evidence, and contributing factors, ensuring timely and accurate documentation

Participate in the Safety Risk Management (SRM) process, including hazard identification, safety risk analysis, and documentation of safety risk controls

Collaborate with operational departments and third-party providers to gather information, clarify operational processes, and support standardized safety practices

Contribute to the development and implementation of safety enhancements and risk mitigation strategies

Support the development and delivery of safety training, safety meetings, and safety communications

Maintain a high standard of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality when handling sensitive safety and operational information

Education: Bachelor's in Aeronautics or related field

Certifications and Licenses: FAA Commercial Instrument

Years of Experience: 2-4 years of experience

Demonstrated working knowledge of aviation operations, safety principles, and incident investigation fundamentals

Familiarity with Safety Risk Management (SRM) concepts and Safety Management Systems (SMS)

Ability to follow structured investigative methodologies, policies, and procedures

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear investigative documentation and reports

Proven professionalism, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality

Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related analytical tools
