Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Telemetry-Oncology RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 1 year of cardiac/telemetry experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

Acute care Magnet-designated hospital with 97 staffed beds

Direct patient care on the Med-Surg-Telemetry-Oncology unit

Patient ratios of 1:4-5

Night shift, 3x12 hours (1845-0715), every other weekend

May be required to float between Belleville and Shiloh locations or within the facility

No on-call responsibilities

Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration

Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS

Minimum 1 year of med-surg-cardiac/telemetry experience required

Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration

Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration

Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams

Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration required)

Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care and heparin protocols

Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use

Additional Information

Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical, telemetry, and oncology patients

Navy scrub color required

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility

RTO limited to 7 days within the 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment

Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service

Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
