Responsibilities
Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.
Document according to standards of care.
Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, including patient and family instruction.
Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, potentially including shared governance.
Utilize clinical expertise to provide guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
Apply critical thinking concerning patient safety and patient experience, escalating appropriately through the chain of command.
