CFO Finance & Accounting

The Director of Finance is responsible for the strategic financial management and oversight of all accounting operations at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, including both gaming and non-gaming functions. This leadership role supports the Chief Financial Officer by ensuring accurate reporting, financial planning, operational compliance, and alignment with the organization's financial objectives.

Manages the financial departments including general ledger, financial reporting, casino and hotel audit, financial planning and analysis, count room, payroll, accounts payable, and warehouse operations.

Oversees and administers the financial software systems to support accurate and efficient financial operations.

Supervises finance and accounting team members to ensure departmental efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Ensures compliance with all gaming regulations, company policies, and financial control procedures.

Provides the CFO with accurate and timely financial reports to support strategic planning and organizational goals.

Analyzes and reports on financial data and performance across all operational areas of the casino and resort.

Coordinates the implementation of new accounting systems and improvements to internal control procedures.

Performs other job‑related duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer or Chief Operating Officer.

Provides leadership and direction to the finance department, fostering a productive and compliant work environment.

Recruits, trains, and develops team members to meet performance expectations and maintain organizational standards.

Monitors and evaluates staff performance; provides coaching, discipline, and growth opportunities as needed.

Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial data.

Proficient in financial reporting, P&L preparation, and financial statement analysis.

Advanced proficiency in PC software, spreadsheets, and accounting applications.

Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and reporting requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.

CPA, MBA, or other relevant professional certification strongly preferred.

Minimum of 8 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3-5 years in a leadership or director‑level role.

Extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.

Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP, UKG Pro, or similar) required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Occasionally lifts documents, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.

Frequently uses hands to operate a computer, calculator, and other standard office equipment.

Stationary Work: Frequently remains seated at a desk or computer workstation for extended periods.

Tool Operation: Regular use of computers, software applications, and standard office equipment.

Visual Acuity: Requires close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus while reviewing data and documents.

Regularly works in both office and casino environments, with exposure to moderate to high noise levels and a smoking environment.

Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
