About the Role : The Senior Tax Specialist assists clients in preparing and filing their tax returns accurately and timely. Responsibilities include understanding tax laws, identifying deductions and credits, and helping clients maximize refunds or minimize liabilities. Prepare and File Tax Returns: Gather client information, calculate taxes owed or refunds due, and complete tax forms for submission.
Review Financial Records: Analyze financial statements, income, and expense records for accuracy.
Stay Updated on Tax Laws: Keep abreast of changes in federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Identify Deductions and Credits: Advise clients on potential deductions and credits to reduce tax liabilities.
Ensure Compliance: Verify data accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
Address inquiries, offer tax advice, and handle concerns.
Handle IRS Correspondence: Assist with audits, notices, and communications from tax authorities.
Maintain Confidentiality: Protect client data and financial information.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
CPA is a plus.
Prior experience with high-volume tax preparation.
Strong understanding of tax laws and preparation software.
Excellent analytical, communication, and customer service skills; ability to work under pressure, especially during tax season.
