RN: Pediatrics - Weekend Nights

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing with at least 2-3 years of experience in a Med-Surg environment, including pediatric care. This position involves working in a fast-paced unit with an average patient length of stay of three days.Responsibilities:Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population, including adults and pediatrics.Manage patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement treatment protocols.Monitor and interpret vital signs, including reading telemetry strips as necessary.Titrate medication drips such as Heparin and Protonix.Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including Hospitalists, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Float to other units (such as Telemetry or OB) when required and if appropriately experienced.Participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing training opportunities.Qualifications:Current ACLS (AHA) and BLS certifications; PALS certification preferred.2-3 years of nursing experience in a Med-Surg setting; pediatric experience is preferred.Ability to manage and care for patients with a variety of diagnoses, including but not limited to COPD, postoperative care, GI bleeds, OBGYN surgeries, sepsis, and altered mental status.Familiarity with respiratory equipment, including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen.Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with charge nurses and support staff.Work Schedule:12-hour night shifts with a commitment to working every other weekend, and participation in the holiday rotation.Schedules are created 30-45 days in advance with some flexibility in self-scheduling.Additional Information:This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative nursing team in a busy Med-Surg unit.
