Contract | Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 49-bed Cardiac/Medical Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips; RNs are required to read and sign strips at least once per shift
Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF, respiratory conditions, GI issues, diabetes, post-cath, CVA/TIA, and total joint replacement
Administer and manage set-rate drips including Diltiazem/Cardizem; titration of drips is not required
Operate and manage respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and breathing treatments
Float to additional campus locations as needed; float to PCU if qualified
Required Qualifications
Active RN license valid in the state of Arizona
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract start
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Must not have been employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience reading and interpreting basic telemetry strips
Experience with CVA and TIA patient populations
Total joint replacement nursing experience
Familiarity with Cerner EMR strongly recommended due to limited unit orientation (1 shift)
