Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a night shift travel contract at a Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center, requiring at least 1.5 years of ED experience and Level I Trauma Center background.
Details
Work setting is a large, short-term acute care Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center with over 1,500 staffed beds
Assignment is in the Emergency Department, with cross-training and floating to other campuses and ED observation as needed
Patient ratios average 1:6 on both day and night shifts
Travelers are not assigned to trauma/rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units
Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Every other weekend is required
No on-call requirements
Block scheduling is available
Charting is performed in Epic
Parking is available at a cost of approximately $125/month
Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC
• Minimum 1.5 years of ED RN experience from a comparable hospital setting; 2 years preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital or academic medical center ED background strongly preferred
• Nursing license must be free of any prior disciplinary actions
• 1 professional reference required for consideration
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Additional Information
Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted for this position
Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved; RTO exceeding 7 days requires manager approval
Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
COVID vaccination is required, with religious or medical exemptions considered
Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
Weekend call-out policy requires any missed weekend shift to be made up on another weekend shift within the following 6-week scheduling period
If a weekend shift is missed, the traveler may contact the Traveler Manager immediately after to request a preferred makeup day
A repeated call-out on a scheduled makeup shift will result in a coaching/final warning for time and attendance
