Technology Technical Communicator

This role is a contract opportunity and located in downtown Austin. Will need to be onsite 3-4 days per week.

Our client is seeking a Technical Writer to help document and standardize IT processes, procedures, and technical environments. The organization is currently assessing its technology landscape and identifying opportunities to strengthen foundational processes and documentation.

They should be able to ask the right questions, gather information from multiple stakeholders, and create structure from information that may currently live primarily with individual team members.

Document current-state IT processes, procedures, systems, and operational practices.

Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), process documentation, runbooks, knowledge-base articles, and other technical materials.

Previous experience as a Technical Writer, preferably supporting IT, infrastructure, software, or technology organizations.

Strong experience developing SOPs, process documentation, runbooks, knowledge-base content, and technical procedures.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple documentation priorities, and bring structure to ambiguous situations.

Experience with common documentation, knowledge-management, and collaboration platforms is preferred.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can bring organization and structure to a technology environment that is actively being assessed and improved.
