As a Registered Nurse on the Medical Surgical Unit at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center, you'll deliver compassionate, high-quality care to a diverse population of adult patients while making a meaningful impact on their recovery. Your clinical expertise, critical thinking, and collaboration will be essential in providing safe, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

This 40-bed Medical Surgical Unit cares for patients with a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions, including post-cardiac catheterization recovery, stroke, COPD, kidney disease, chest wall conditions, and other complex medical diagnoses. You'll perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, coordinate multidisciplinary care, educate patients and families, and closely monitor for changes in condition to promote the best possible outcomes.

The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.
