The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for designing electrical systems for industrial CNC machinery. This includes electrical schematics, panel layouts, cable drawings, and pneumatic circuits. This role works closely with engineering and shop floor teams to ensure designs translate accurately into production.
Design electrical schematics, panel layouts, and pneumatic circuits using AutoCAD Electrical
Create and maintain electrical drawings, cable assemblies, and documentation
Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for panels and cable assemblies
Update and maintain existing schematics based on engineering and field feedback
Select electrical components and create purchasing data sheets
Support production and assembly teams to ensure design accuracy
Maintain documentation within CAD systems and engineering records
5+ years of experience in electrical design for CNC or industrial equipment
- Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical CAD software
- Strong experience creating electrical schematics and panel layouts
- Experience with cable assemblies and BOM creation
- Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial equipment schematics
- Familiarity with pneumatic systems and circuit design
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
