HR Generalist - Employee Relations and Compliance

The HR Generalist plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s workforce through full-cycle HR operations, employee relations, compliance, and systems management . This role is ideal for someone who is confident in managing employee relations, comfortable having difficult conversations, and committed to ensuring policies and practices are applied fairly and consistently.
Onboarding & HR Operations
Coordinate and execute full-cycle onboarding, including new hire paperwork, system setup, and orientation
Conduct virtual onboarding sessions and ensure timely completion of required trainings
Manage HR systems (Gusto, Connecteam), including employee setup, data accuracy, and reporting
Employee Relations & Performance Management
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters
Provide guidance to managers on performance management, coaching, and corrective action
Draft and support implementation of disciplinary actions and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and organizational policies
Conduct internal investigations and document findings
Support unemployment claims, hearings, and appeals
Assist in drafting responses to regulatory agencies (e.g., Benefits & HR Administration
Training & Organizational Support
Coordinate and deliver HR-related trainings for staff and leadership
Contribute to employee engagement and culture-building initiatives
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations and compliance
Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Experience with HRIS and workforce management systems (Gusto, Connecteam, or similar preferred)
Someone who is confident, fair, and consistent in applying policies and addressing issues
