Physical Therapist Outpatient

Responsible for providing a full range of therapeutic services including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualification, professional practices, and ethical standards. A physical therapist (PT) must be able to evaluate a patient's condition and devise a customized physical rehabilitation and treatment plan. The PTs' goal is to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability, to maximize quality of life in an outpatient rehab setting. The physical therapist shall also demonstrate accountability for the contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving, and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion. The employee may have job functions where they will handle and deliver medications based on the requirements of their job in the assigned work facility. Review physician's referral (prescription), patient's condition, medical history, and submitted medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required. Plans and prepares written treatment program based on evaluation of patient and incorporate proper interventions that can help patients better perform everyday tasks, decrease pain, ambulation, and improve strength and mobility
Administer treatments involving application of physical agents, such as cold packs, contrast baths, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, Iontophoresis, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound machines
Record treatment, responses, and progress in the patient’s electronic medical record and prepare reports as indicated by licensure, the provider, and or insurance recommendations
Promote/educate Organizations Rehabilitation programs to referring physicians, healthcare providers, and or co-workers by performing in-services and/or marketing activities.
Reduce cancel/no-show rates to improve quality of care and patient outcomes
Bachelor's Degree Required
Ability to utilize therapy equipment in an outpatient rehabilitation setting to provide treatment and procedures
Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts
Ability to respect cultural and religious practices of patients
Physical Therapist - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Required
