Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse-Surgery

Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients in an outpatient clinic setting. The RN uses technology, evidence‑based practice, and coordination with other health team members to deliver care.

Shift Details Full time (40 budgeted hours). The RN will be scheduled for either five 8‑hour shifts or four 10‑hour shifts per week.

Unit / Location Miles City, Montana. This position supports both the Holy Rosary OB/GYN Clinics and the Holy Rosary General Surgery Clinic.

Responsibilities Performs general nursing care following established standards and procedures.

Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.

Obtains and documents health history, vital signs, and health risk factors, and assesses disease condition.

Provides patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws.

Executes prescribed treatments, administers medications, monitors and documents treatment progress, and consults with physicians and other health providers.

Educates patients and families about health status, maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.

Documents patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record systems.

Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.

Tracks quality assurance data and monitors for acute and chronic care management.

Additional Information Assist with provider results.

Support lactation consultations.

Provide wound care services.

Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board.

Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital setting.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

IBCLC certification.

Wound care certification.

Essential Functions & Job Requirements Regular attendance on site during scheduled business hours or shifts.

Knowledge of nursing processes, health care systems, and community resources.

Understanding of health care technology, equipment, and supplies.

Familiarity with state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies.

Effective communication with staff and patients.

Sound judgment and composure in emergency situations.

Positive, caring attitude toward patients.

Strong work ethic and high level of professionalism.

Critical thinking skills within scope of practice, population health management, and improvement of patient outcomes.

Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $29.91 - $45.33, dependent upon experience.
