RN / Neuro Onc Ratios: 1:5 Years of experience REQ: 2 Years Oncology Experience Required. Previous Charge Experience and Teaching Hospital Experience preferred. Certs REQ: BLS Skills REQ: IV Therapy/ Infusions: Administration of coagulation factors, Antifungals, Antivirals, Blood/Blood product administration, Care and management of ports, Central line blood draw, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, Infusion pump management, Intravenous. Oncologic Emergencies: Sepsis. Psychosocial Care: Advanced directives, Patient/Family education and support. Chest tube care and management, Colostomy care and management, Foley catheter insertion/management, Isolation Precautions, Neutropenic precautions, Telemetry Interpretation, Telemetry monitoring, Wound care. Surgery: Post surgical care. Skills Preferred: IV Therapy/ Infusions: Oncologic Emergencies: Psychosocial Care: Hospice care, Withholding/withdrawing treatment. Care of Patient With: Bladder/Kidney Cancer, Brain cancer, Breast Cancer, Colorectal Cancer, Ear/Nose/Throat Cancers, Kidney Cancer, Leukemia/Blood Dyscrasias, Liver Cancer, Lung cancer, Lymphoma/Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, Melanoma, Multiple Myeloma, Ovarian Cancer/Uterine Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, Prostate Cancer. Tracheostomy care/management. Inpatient oncology. Radiation therapy: Radiation safety precautions, Wound care. Special Procedures/Unit Details: Primary oncology unit treating all types of cancer in all phases of care from work-up to completion of therapy. Uro-gyn and Gyn-onc surgical population - providing post op care. Step-down neuro overflow unit for strokes, head bleeds, and other neurological needs.
