RN - Registered Nursing First Assist

The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) is a licensed professional who renders direct patient care as part of the perioperative role by functioning as a first assistant to the surgeon. The RNFA practices an expanded role of perioperative nursing and has acquired the knowledge, skills, and judgment necessary to assist the surgeon through organized instruction and supervised practice. The RNFA practices under the supervision of the surgeon in the Operating Room and Labor and Delivery Suite as a First Assistant.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care as a first assistant during surgical procedures.

Assist the surgeon in the Operating Room and Labor and Delivery Suite.

Maintain a safe and sterile environment for surgical procedures.

Participate in pre-operative and post-operative care of patients.

Collaborate effectively with surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR).

Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing.

Current CPR certification.

Current ACLS recognition.

Schedule
8- or 10-hour shifts, Days with 0630 start time. Alternating weekends are required.

Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
