LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

SITE OF SERVICE:

Monday through Friday, 8- or 10-hour shifts between 0600-1800 (typical clinical hours 0700-1600). No on-call or Federal holidays required.

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) will provide comprehensive social work services at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) or Intrepid Spirit Center under a Defense Health Agency (DHA) personal services contract. The LCSW provides psychosocial evaluations, crisis counseling, individual and group psychotherapy, and comprehensive clinical family therapy for service members affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI) and psychological health conditions. This role involves coordinating continued care across dispersed locations and managing complex cases involving high‑risk individuals.

Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from a school fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Association of Social Work Boards.

Experience: Clinical social work experience through master's level practicum OR 2 years post-MSW experience within the last 3 years in a clinical/treatment setting.

Citizen required.

Provide comprehensive social work services to various beneficiary groups scattered over large geographical areas.

Manage and coordinate continued care in dispersed locations including remote regions of the United States and foreign countries.

Conduct comprehensive psychosocial evaluations of outpatients, coordinating development of multidisciplinary treatment plans with emphasis on complex cases and high‑risk individuals.

Provide brief strategic and crisis counseling for patients and families in acute psychiatric distress.

Provide individual, group psychotherapy, comprehensive clinical family therapy, and aftercare planning for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.

Coordinate and implement discharge plans by arranging transition to next level of care.

Formulate and conduct in-service training for complex social work services to multi-disciplinary treatment teams.

Educate medical staff on psychosocial impact of injury, discharge procedures, and community treatment resources.

Provide clinical oversight to psychiatry residents/fellows, psychology interns/residents, or social work interns/fellows as directed.

Document and close notes in MHS Genesis within three (3) business days of patient encounters.

Must be comfortable working with high‑risk individuals including patients with severe psychiatric illness, substance abuse issues, neurological diseases, brain injury, and patients who are physically abused, neglected, or mentally incompetent. Must possess knowledge of Dragon dictation software, MHS Genesis, and Microsoft Office programs. Must comply with regulatory, MTF, and Joint Commission quality inspection/peer review/utilization management requirements.
