Joo Ok is a contemporary Korean fine dining restaurant, which received 1 star in 2024 and 2 stars in 2025 from Michelin guide NYC. Led by Chef Chang-ho Shin, highly decorated and recognized for his commitment to hansik . Joo Ok is relocating from Seoul, Korea to NYC’s Koreatown in 2024.

Position summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Runner to join our service team. The ideal candidate will take pride in supporting a seamless dining experience and maintaining the standards of a Michelin-caliber restaurant.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a fine dining, upscale, or high-volume restaurant (preferred but not required)
Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
Ability to lift and carry heavy items , including trays, boxes, and equipment
Attention to detail and ability to follow precise directions
Ability to stay calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment
Professional demeanor, punctuality, and positive attitude
Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly and safely through the dining room
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Responsibilities:
Deliver dishes from the kitchen to the correct table and guest with accuracy and precision
Ensure all food items are delivered to the assigned server and presented according to restaurant standards
Communicate clearly with servers, kitchen, and management
Support setup and breakdown of service
Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations and dining areas
Assist with restocking, polishing, and resetting tables
Handle plates, trays, and service equipment safely and professionally
