Certified Medical AssistantCertified Medical Assistant – Family Care 18141 Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together $5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Eligible New Hires Work location: Monday - Thursday 7:30am to 5:00pm, Friday 7:30am to 12:00pm Family Care 18141 Department highlights: Collaborative and Supportive Culture Commitment to Excellence in Patient Care Professional Development OpportunitiesQualifications Here's What You Need Education H.Diploma or Equivalent (Required) Experience 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (Preferred) and Successful completion of THPG Clinical Training (CT) educational program with demonstrated competency in required skills-within 90 days of job entry (Required) Epic experience (Highly Preferred) Licenses and Certifications CMA - Certified Medical Assistant (Required) And ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Preferred) Or BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support Exception Quarterly 90 Days Upon Hire (Required) What You Will Do Under the direction of the health care provider, is responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and well being of all patients. Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures. Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider. May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as well as perform routine tests such as EKG's. Schedule patients for diagnostic testing and follow up to ensure completion of testing. Document patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider. Communicate with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the provider. Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol. Keep patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly. Escalate non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s). Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required. May work in the front office as needed, as well as perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, more senior staff, or as requested by healthcare provider(s).
