Oncology Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Oncology
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations for clinical research trials focusing within oncology. This role requires a compassionate individual with a deep understanding of physiological, psychological, and developmental differences across various age groups, including late adolescence through to the elderly. Implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.

Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding their medical history and current status.

Collect and record nursing assessments and interventions.

Review and report health status assessments and physical examinations, including laboratory and radiographic data.

Provide patient and family education and psychosocial support.

Administer therapies under physician supervision, including learning to mix chemotherapy/immunotherapy.

Ensure pre-authorization and consent forms are completed before therapy administration.

Facilitate dose modifications by assessing patients and consulting with physicians.

Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments.

Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.

Follow OSHA guidelines for handling hazardous materials.

Maintain equipment according to quality control standards.

Facilitate clinical operations and manage patient care.

Handle medication refill requests and document in patient charts.

Assist physicians with exams and procedures.

Triage patient phone calls and document information.

Assist patients in finding community resources.

Collaborate with clinical research and act as a resource for LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.

Provide nursing coverage for satellite offices as needed.

Participate in professional development and stay updated on oncology nursing.

Registered Nurse (RN) license

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree

Experience in patient care and infusion

Experience in clinical research

This position is based in an office setting with a Monday to Friday schedule, with no weekend or holiday work required. Benefits include four weeks of paid time off, two floating holidays, and tuition reimbursement up to $3,000.

This is a Permanent position based out of Albany, NY.
