HR/Payroll Generalist - Compliance and Payroll

Overview

The University of Florida is hiring a Human Resources Generalist III for the College of Nursing. This role provides advanced HR consultation and operational support to leadership, faculty, and staff, managing complex HR functions such as recruitment, workforce planning, employee relations, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Manage full recruitment and hiring lifecycle, serving as primary HR expert for College of Nursing.

Oversee complex HR operations including appointments, renewals, separations, onboarding, and offboarding.

Provide payroll, leave, and FMLA administration with quality assurance and compliance oversight.

Maintain HR records and ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations.

Collaborate with international offices to support employment of international employees and visiting scholars.

Use PeopleSoft or similar HR information systems for recruitment, payroll, and compliance tracking.

Qualifications

Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.

Preferred experience includes higher education HR consulting, employment law knowledge, and SHRM or PHR certifications.

Salary range: $70,000-$80,000 annually.

Supports College of Nursing leadership, faculty, staff, and associated departments.
