This position is funded through special revenue.
Position Overview:
The Registered Dietitian is responsible for assessing patients' nutritional needs, developing personalized dietary plans, and providing education on healthy eating habits. The Dietitian will work together with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to incorporate nutritional interventions into the comprehensive patient care plan. The position responsibilities also include building and maintaining relationships with community partners.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide nutrition counseling and education to individuals and groups, addressing specific health conditions and dietary concerns. Including but not limited to diabetes, heart diseases, hypertension, obesity, malnutrition, and kidney diseases.
Monitor patients' progress and adjust nutrition plans as needed.
Document patient interactions and maintain accurate records.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition interventions into overall patient care and providing referrals to healthcare professionals as appropriate.
Participate in community outreach programs to promote nutrition awareness and preventive healthcare.
Provides monthly, quarterly and annual program reports.
Stay updated on the latest nutritional research, guidelines, and trends to enhance patient care and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
~ Bachelor's degree in nutrition, Dietetics, or related field

Licenses/Certifications:
Registered Dietitian credentials and state license
Valid TX Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and foster teamwork in a diverse environment.
Ability to work well with public and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.

Experience:
At least one (1) year of experience in nutrition, dietetics or related field
At least one (1) year of experience in a clinical health setting
General Information
Position Type, and Typical Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, funded through special revenue
Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Expected to travel within Harris County jurisdiction
Work Environment:
~ This job operates in both a professional office and community environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands:
~ This role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time.
