FullTime Police Officers

Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) is a rural two-year public college serving a seven-county region in Northeast Texas. The college offers a mix of academic transfer programs and workforce training in fields such as health sciences, culinary arts, cosmetology, industrial technology, agriculture, and welding. NTCC is committed to providing accessible, affordable education that supports local workforce needs and community development. The campus is also home to the Carroll Shelby Automotive Institute, giving learners unique opportunities in automotive education and performance technology. The Police Officer is a full‑time position at the NTCC campus in Mount Pleasant, TX. Day‑to‑day tasks include enforcing college policies and applicable laws, responding to emergencies, conducting preliminary criminal investigations, and preparing accurate incident and arrest reports. The Police Officer will also manage and preserve evidence, assist with traffic and parking control, and collaborate with local law enforcement and campus departments. The position requires strong interpersonal skills to engage positively with the campus community, provide safety education, and support a welcoming learning environment.

Demonstrated knowledge of law enforcement practices, including experience as a Police Officer or in related Police roles.

Ability to conduct criminal investigations and handle evidence in accordance with legal and procedural standards.

Understanding of campus safety, community policing, and crime prevention strategies in an educational setting.

Strong communication, conflict resolution, and report‑writing skills, with attention to detail and integrity.

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.

Completion of an accredited police academy and eligibility for Texas peace officer certification (or ability to obtain as required).
