Head of Inventory Planning

As a Manager, Assortment Planning at Dollar Tree’s corporate office, you’ll provide guidance, direction, and training to assortment planners to drive sales and margin by establishing appropriate assortments by dept, category, and/or subcategory. Training best practices and standardized processes for assortment planning, including but not limited to:Cluster establishment by categoryNumber of SKUs per categoryNumber of SKUs per category per clusterMinimum presentation quantities for SKU / clusterTotal SKU receipt quantities and flow by clusterAnalysis for premarketAsst planning tool usageTying back to the top-down merchandise financial plan to the Department and Category level, which ties to corporate financial strategy and financial plansOverseeing the training and development of the Assortment Planning organizationImplementing strategy to incorporate space and presentation standards into assortment processPartnering closely with Merchant partners to understand/drive category/product direction and sales plansPartnering with Inventory Management team to ensure receipt flow generated from assortment planning is smooth across weeksPartnering with Merchandise Planning to ensure plans and inventory management activities are alignedParticipating in Category Level Merchandise Strategy ReviewsParticipating in the monthly performance review processYour Required Skills and Experience:Experience managing at least 3-5 direct reportsBachelor’s degree (BA / BS / BFA) or equivalentAssortment planning or merchandising backgroundRelevant experience and understanding of key retail operations, such as Merchandising, Store Operations, Logistics, Finance, Information Systems, and PlanningProven and successful experience in the creation and presentation of item plansAbility to consolidate, analyze, and communicate data into actionable directionAbility to drive business decisions based on numerous data to drive sales, profit, and product assortment efficiencies, supporting business objectivesProven ability to lead others and function effectively in a team environmentPossesses strong organizational skillsStrong analytical skillsAbility to be flexible and adapt to changing prioritiesAbility to train, manage, and motivate direct reportsExcellent communication skillsStart Rate = $105,000-$118,000 based on experience plus 20% bonus and equity.Our success is a team effort —when we reach our goals, you’ll be eligible for a yearly bonus!In addition to medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision insurance, we offer:Employee Assistance ProgramRetirement plans with matching contributionEmployee Stock Purchase ProgramEducational AssistanceAccess to PerkSpot, an employee discount platform for goods and servicesAnd much more!Who We Are:At Dollar Tree, we make a difference in the lives of our customers every day by exceeding their expectations and delivering value - it’s what our business is built on.
