Lead Phlebotomist I - Lab

Job Summary Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Team Leader in Asheville, NC. The position is Monday-Friday, with hours varying from 6:30am to 6:30pm.
Responsibilities Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy duties.
Assist in supervising a team of phlebotomists across multiple Patient Service Centers and client sites.
Observe new employee performance and report observations to the supervisor.
Conduct regular site inspections and accurately report all findings.
Provide continuous training to phlebotomy staff as directed.
Complete new hire and annual competency assessments when necessary.
Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels, and information logs.
Address customer service related issues promptly and respectfully.
Review daily/weekly schedules with the supervisor and adjust as needed.
Promote teamwork, cohesiveness, and effective communication among coworkers.
Perform phlebotomy and site coordinator duties as required.
Minimum Requirements High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Three (3) years of experience as a phlebotomist.
Preferred Qualifications Five (5) years of phlebotomy experience.
Additional Job Standards Phlebotomy certification or completion of an accredited training program acceptable in lieu of experience.
Ability to pass a standardized color‑blindness test.
In‑depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities, and techniques.
Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with reliable transportation.
Minimum age of 21 years.
