This travel Occupational Therapist opportunity is based in the East Aurora area of Illinois, a friendly and diverse suburban community in the greater Chicagoland region. The area offers a comfortable balance of residential neighborhoods, local parks, and easy access to the cultural, dining, and entertainment options of a major metropolitan area. Nearby, you can enjoy riverfront trails, community recreation programs, local restaurants, and quick access to shopping and services. This position is a full-time school-based travel role in a K–8 educational setting. The Occupational Therapist will serve students in general education and special education, with particular focus on school-aged children who receive services through self-contained and resource classrooms. The schedule is designed around a standard school day with approximately 37.5 hours per week and a typical 7.5-hour workday, allowing a predictable routine and evenings free.You will be responsible for providing direct and consultative OT services to students with a variety of needs, including fine motor, visual-motor integration, handwriting, sensory processing, self-regulation, and functional school participation skills. The role also includes evaluation and re-evaluation, development of IEP goals, regular progress monitoring, and integrating OT recommendations into classroom routines to support student success.Caseload will span multiple grade levels from kindergarten through middle school, offering exposure to a wide range of developmental stages and clinical presentations.You will have the chance to contribute to multi-tiered systems of support, participate in IEP meetings, and help shape functional, school-relevant goals that truly impact students’ daily lives.
