Job Summary

Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Tacoma, WA

This ER position involves providing care to a diverse patient population at a Level II Trauma Center. The role requires managing high-acuity cases, including trauma, stroke, sepsis, and mental health patients, with an emphasis on teamwork and clinical competence in an emergency setting.

Job Details

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB; minimum 1 year of ED experience required.

Location: Tacoma, WA

Schedule: Evening shifts from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Support on the Unit: ER tech glucose checks, assisting with splinting, and occasional float assignments between two nearby EDs, with prior location knowledge.

Orientation: Day 1 includes badge issuance and Epic training, followed by a 3-4 day orientation with a preceptor on assigned shift.

Traveler Telemetry Competency: Must be completed and passed before start date.

Additional job responsibilities include providing patient care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment for patient types ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, with a patient ratio of 1:4, occasionally 1:5.

Clinical and operational support roles include security, house supervision, pharmacy, and resource/float nursing.

Optimal for candidates adaptable to flexible scheduling and capable of supporting high patient acuity conditions.
