North Carolina Surgery at Wilson is hiring a General Surgeon in Wilson, NC

The practice focuses on general surgery cases, such as breast surgery, colon surgery, and hernia surgery using laparoscopic techniques. Through its partnership with North Carolina Surgery, the practice’s patients will have easy access to a network of more than three dozen surgeons who can provide resources for complex cases.

The practice currently consists of three physicians (MDs) and two advanced practice providers, with an additional APP to be hired. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible and comfortable performing the full scope of general surgery procedures. The role offers a competitive compensation package including bonus opportunities. Practice hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. It’s strategically located about 45 miles east of Raleigh and the Research Triangle Park, with easy access to I-95, RDU International Airport, the NC coast, and the mountains for weekend getaways. The community offers a welcoming, neighborly atmosphere with cultural and recreational opportunities for all ages. Historic Downtown Wilson features a growing arts scene, boutique shops, restaurants, and the nationally recognized Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park, which combines folk art with community space. You’ll find parks, walking trails, golf courses, lakes for boating and fishing, and seasonal festivals that bring residents together.

Provides professional medical services to patients.

Orders and prescribes medical treatment, diagnostic testing, nursing care, and other health and medical services. Prescribes medically appropriate pharmaceuticals.

Provides health and medical education to patients and families.

Refers patients as needed to appropriate medical specialists and other health care professionals to assure appropriate multidisciplinary care is provided.

Documents medical and clinical care in the patient's medical record. Assigns the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to permit third-party insurance billing.

Supervises other medical professionals.

Adheres to the principles of medical ethics.

Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.

BC/BE in Surgery

Language Skills: Should be able to communicate proficiently in English.

High-level quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills are essential in order to diagnose medical and clinical issues presented by patients.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

North Carolina Medical License, DEA License, BLS/ACLS certification preferred. Board-certified or board-eligible in Surgery.
